Queens of Africa Dolls
Such a powerful line by Taoficko, who describes the Queens of Africa Dolls as a “God given idea.” Taoficko tells a story to explain how Queens of Africa Dolls began. “My daughter had asked me what color she was, and had said she wished she was white. This to me, was a sign of indenting crises which later attributed to the overwhelming presence of white characters, which were all she had as toys. It was at that point I decided to make my range of dolls which I realized we’re lacking in our stores in Nigeria.” That experience with her daughter made her realize that dolls go beyond toys, they are influential. “I felt like imparting positivity through play can be very effective.” These dolls not only show dedication to African Americans, but promote appreciation of our skin to children.
