How To Start A Business

How to create or start your own Business

First off congratulations taking the steps to start your own business is not an easy feat. In this e-book you will learn the ways and steps that you should take to start your business. Please enjoy this short reading and take notes so that you can be successful.

Entrepreneurship has risen above 50% of the last three years. There’s plenty of room for new and fresh ideas from individuals that are innovators and creators. I will provide little insight on how they got started on their journey.

Step one

File your incorporation:

Do you want to be an LLC, a corporation, a nonprofit, or form a partnership. All these are your choice and don’t forget once you file with whatever incorporation you choose you can change in the future.

Your states website will have the appropriate fees and application that you need to fill out and you will be able to file it online if you just take your time and read everything carefully and have all your documents ready. Every state is different so make sure that you are filing for the correct state and know what the taxes will be when it comes to your business.

Step two

Creating your articles of incorporation: Now this goes hand-in-hand with your filing of your business with your state. Please note that some states do not require a articles of incorporation however, you will need to documentation when it comes to open a bank accounts and getting grants if you would like that in the future of your business. These papers basically just tell you who will be running your business as it flows on its daily operations.

So it’s a pretty important factor when it comes to your business. It doesn’t have to be something that is tedious and you cannot actually contact a business attorney to help you with this portion of your business. As you guys know I highly recommend working with a business attorney when you’re starting your business because making mistakes early can be costly if you don’t do it correctly.

Step three

Getting your EIN:

Your EIN is basically your identification number. It’s kind of like our Social Security numbers but, for businesses. This is very important when it comes to follow your taxes every year and when you want to grow and get business credit. Your EIN and it’s free for you to get and only takes about 10 good minutes to get once you apply online directly on the IRS website.

There’s a lot of people that charge to process your EIN but it’s not necessary to do and you can save some money here if you just take the time to apply for online yourself once you get your acceptance from the Secretary of State of the filing of your business. Trust me you can do it yourself.

Step 4

Filling your trademark:

This is an important step that a lot of business owners skip because they can’t afford it in the beginning. But when you take a step back and look at the advantages of having a trademark early for your business is definitely something that you need to get at the beginning.

Having a federal trademark trumps having a state incorporation for your business. Trademarks are issued at 10 years at a time and can be renewed easily by just letting them know that you’re still using the Mark. I know that Trademarks are expensive but you have to put this in your budget. People tend to copycat things that are great in things that are innovative. You do not want all of your hard work to go to waste if you do not have a trademark. Seek and hire a business attorney to get this done for you and allow yourself to build your business stress-free.

Step 5

Choosing a brand image or logo for your business: Figure out what colors you wanna incorporate with your business. Then hire someone to create the graphics such as a logo or monogram for your business. Make sure resumes in fits with whom you are in the brands identity. This is very important because you do not want to confuse your new customers and clients who you are and what you represent.

Don’t forget to incorporate some type of research behind the meaning of different colors and meanings of words so that you can make sure that you are not just pulling a rabbit out of the hat for your brands awareness.

Now you’re able to start your Business like a rockstar. You are ready to receive all the fruits of your labor. Follow these five steps and you will be successful. If you need any help I want any more information or any resources please feel free to reach out to me and I will be able to help you as much as I can.

Business Owners Need Social Media

Business Owners Need Social Media

If you plan on running a business you definitely need to incorporate a marketing strategy within your business. Within that marketing strategy you need to include social media platforms and channels as a way to grow and communicate with your customers. Think about it when we want to find a business or something about a business we always go to Google. Once we are at Google we find a website and we click on their social media icons to stay connected with that particular business.

Sometimes, we even go straight to social media to find that business instead of going to google. So if your business does not have any digital real estate then how would your customers be able to gain trust. Even if you choose not to use certain platforms occupy your business name so nobody else can do it in the future when you finally decide to use it. Meaning, if you don’t use Snapchat but in the future you decide to and your name is taken you won’t be able to do anything about that. So I suggest that you jump the gun early and acquire or reserve your business name on all platforms.

Let’s face it social media is where we spend the most of our time nowadays. It allows you to gain markets that you weren’t able to gain before and it allows you to be more relatable as a business owner. Try not to get hung up on the fact that it’s new and it’s too technical. Embrace the fact that you’re able to open yourselves up to new markets.

Research shows that the three top social media platforms that are used by many people including boomers, millennials, Gen X Are:
Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Twitter, YouTube, Google, and LinkedIn.

Set up these accounts and watch your business grow. Where has taken business owners 20 years to grow and get recognized but only take businesses five years because we have technology and resources at our fingertips now.

Enjoy the growth and check back with me within the next five years and let me know how it worked out for you. I bet you will be a believer of social media and you will utilize it to your highest abilities for success.
